Our Take
Our Take
Ramblin' Jack Elliot, the original nomad of folk music, has captured the essence of wanderlust in his 100 Classic Recordings from 1954-62. This album is more nostalgic than finding a mixtape from your first crush, and more charming than a pub full of Irish singers belting it out at closing time.
Elliot's laid-back vocals transport you to a dusty roadside bar in the heart of America, while his intricate guitar picking makes you feel like you've dusted off your boots after a long day on the open road. Each track is a story waiting to be told, a journey waiting to be taken.
The classic recordings on this album showcase Elliot's raw talent and genuine love for folk music. His effortless storytelling and authentic, old-timey sound make you feel like you're sitting around a campfire, swapping stories with an old friend.
From the bluesy twang of "Rollin' Thunder" to the heartfelt lyrics of "Don't Think Twice, It's All Right," Ramblin' Jack Elliot's music is a timeless treasure that never gets old. So grab your knapsack, put on your best boots, and embark on a musical adventure with this legendary troubadour. You won't regret it.

About the artist
Ramblin' Jack Elliot
Artists don't come much more legendary than Ramblin Jack Elliot. A true pioneer of the folk music scene, Elliot has been serenading audiences with his soulful, weathered voice and intricate fingerpicking for over half a century. Born Elliott Charles Adnopoz in Brooklyn, New York, in 1931, he adopted the moniker "Ramblin' Jack" as a nod to the itinerant lifestyle he led as a young man, travelling around the country and absorbing the sounds of different regions. Elliot's music is steeped in the rich traditions of American folk and blues, yet he brings a unique twist to each song with his distinctive vocal delivery and masterful guitar work. His performances are a masterclass in storytelling, with each song painting a vivid picture of life on the road, love gained and lost, and the trials and tribulations of the human experience. It's no surprise that Elliot has earned the respect and admiration of some of the biggest names in music. Bob Dylan famously cited him as a major influence, and Johnny Cash once referred to him as "the king of the folksingers." Elliot's impact on the music world cannot be overstated, and his influence can be heard in the work of countless artists who have followed in his footsteps. At 90 years old, Elliot shows no signs of slowing down. His live performances are as captivating as ever, drawing audiences in with his warm, charismatic stage presence and timeless sound. Whether you're a die-hard folk music fan or a newcomer to the genre, Ramblin Jack Elliot is guaranteed to leave you spellbound with his soul-stirring performances.
