White Lion

White Lion

White Lion is the epitome of 80s hair metal excess. With their flowing locks, tight leather pants, and soaring power ballads, this band knows how to rock and roll in the most over-the-top way possible.

Formed in 1983 in Denmark by vocalist Mike Tramp and guitarist Vito Bratta, White Lion quickly rose to fame with their debut album "Fight to Survive" in 1985. With its catchy hooks and shredding guitar solos, the album set the stage for the band's explosive success.

But it was their 1987 album "Pride" that truly solidified White Lion's place in the music pantheon. Featuring the hit singles "Wait" and "When the Children Cry", the album showcased the band's ability to blend hard-hitting rockers with heartfelt ballads, all delivered with Tramp's raspy vocals and Bratta's virtuosic guitar work.

Despite their commercial success, White Lion faced internal tensions that ultimately led to their breakup in 1992. Tramp and Bratta went their separate ways, with Tramp continuing to perform White Lion's hits on the nostalgia circuit while Bratta retreated from the spotlight.

But don't count White Lion out just yet. The band reunited in 2004 for a series of shows and even released a new album, "Return of the Pride", in 2008. While they may not be headlining arenas like they did in their heyday, White Lion's legacy as one of the most flamboyant and unforgettable bands of the 80s lives on. Long live the king of hair metal!
