Liam Gallagher hits back after fan asks 'ridiculous question' about Oasis reunion

Liam Gallagher says Oasis will “wipe the floor” with the “majority of bands out there” on their reunion tour.
The legendary Britpop group’s frontman was left insulted after a fan asked him a “ridiculous question” about whether the ‘Supersonic’ hitmakers will be as good live as their ‘90s heyday when they play their first shows in 16 years on the ‘Oasis Live ‘25’ jaunt next year, and he insists they are better live than most bands today.
He responded on X: “Got asked a ridiculous question yesterday so are OASIS gonna be as good as you once were because when sone bands get back together there not as good I said listen here you **** even on our bad day we’ll still wipe the floor with majority of bands out there. (sic)”
The 52-year-old rocker – who has put to bed his longstanding feud with his brother Noel Gallagher, 57, the group’s guitarist, for the tour – recently responded to grumbles from some about the lack of new artists joining them on the road after former Verve frontman Richard Ashcroft was among the acts confirmed to open for the ‘Live Forever’ rockers on the UK and Ireland leg of the tour.
Liam insisted Richard, 53, has "got more talent in his left nostril than all your so called new bands put together (sic)”
After it was confirmed that he will join the Gallagher brothers on the road, fans messaged Liam on X to say that Oasis should give new indie bands an opportunity to play at the sold-out shows, but the 'Some Might Say' rocker dismissed the suggestions, insisting there are no new groups who can match the talent of the ‘Bitter Sweet Symphony’ singer.
Liam posted: “To all the folk who are crying about us not showing love to the young bands and not letting them support there’s LEVELS to this game and I’m afraid 99 [per cent] of ya are way off. (sic)”
Responding to a follower who stated that "Oasis could really have made a difference by promoting newer/contemporary band”, Liam penned: "Richard’s got more talent in his left nostril than all your so called new bands put together now stop being an entitled little bumbaseed and show some f****** respect. (sic)”
When one fan pointed out that Liam let his son Gene Gallagher's band Villanelle open at his solo concerts and suggested his analysis “applies to ur son’s s*** band but they still opened for u didn’t they (sic)”, the music legend replied: "It doesn’t actually there the 1 p cent that are mega. (sic)”
Richard is a long-time friend of Liam and Noel, with his former band The Verve often touring with Oasis in the '90s.
Indie rockers Cast are also set to open for Oasis after John Power and co joined Liam on his ‘Definitely Maybe’ arena tour this summer and previously opened for them at Knebworth in 1996.
In North America, they will be joined by Cage The Elephant.
The ‘Oasis Live ‘25’ tour’ kicks off at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium on July 4 and includes seven nights at London’s Wembley Stadium.
The global run will also take in Australia and Mexico.
