Hip-hop icon Jay-Z is set to make history once again with two monumental performances at Yankee Stadium this summer. The shows, announced by Roc Nation, will celebrate the anniversaries of two of his most iconic albums: Reasonable Doubt and The Blueprint.
The back-to-back concerts will take place on Friday, July 10, and Saturday, July 11, in The Bronx. The first night, titled “JAŸ-Z 30,” will honor the 30th anniversary of his groundbreaking debut album, Reasonable Doubt. The second night, “JAŸ-Z 25,” will celebrate the 25th anniversary of The Blueprint, an album that redefined hip-hop and solidified Jay-Z’s status as one of the greatest rappers of all time.
Roc Nation shared the news on social media, writing, “Two historic nights to celebrate the iconic albums Reasonable Doubt and The Blueprint. Stay tuned.” Fans are eagerly awaiting further details, including ticket information, which has yet to be announced.
Reasonable Doubt, released in 1996, introduced the world to Jay-Z’s lyrical genius and storytelling prowess, peaking at No. 23 on the Billboard 200. Meanwhile, The Blueprint, released in 2001, topped the Billboard 200 for three weeks and is widely regarded as one of the greatest hip-hop albums ever made.
This announcement follows a series of hints from Jay-Z earlier this year, including the release of the original “Dead Presidents” on streaming platforms and a return to his stage name JAŸ-Z, complete with the umlaut he used during the Reasonable Doubt era. The Brooklyn legend also recently announced his first performance with The Roots in a decade, set to take place at the Roots Picnic in May.
